Fork me on GitHub

What is Maraschino?

I wanted a simple web interface to act as a nice overview/front page for my XBMC HTPC. I couldn't find anything that suited my requirements so I created something myself.

It is free, open-source software. Use and modify it as you wish. If you're a developer and XBMC enthusiast, consider forking it on GitHub and creating something cool. We're all doing this for fun!

Here are some of its features:

Donating and whatever

This is free software - a labour of love, if you will - that is being worked on in free time. For free!

Of course, you do not have to donate anything - but if you fancy throwing a beer my way as a token of your appreciation then that would be most welcome. I do my best coding whilst sipping on a nice Belgian Lambic.

It is a work-in-progress - things are still being changed, and new features and modules are being added quite frequently.

Awesome. How do I use it?

First of all, please note that Maraschino requires XBMC Frodo. It also doesn't support Internet Explorer at this time, in large part because it sucks balls. Get a real browser.

Maraschino is written in Python and uses the Flask framework, so you need to configure a suitable web server (such as Apache) to serve it. If you're not comfortable configuring a web server then there is an easier installation method which uses CherryPy. You can also test it out first using Flask's built-in dev server if you like.

You can find setup instructions on the installation page.

Who created this?

This project was started and is maintained by me (Bradley Abrahams) but many people have been so kind as to get involved and contribute code.

You can find them in the AUTHORS file of the GitHub repo. Big thanks to everybody that has contributed - Maraschino would not be the project that it is today without you!
